Formerly addicted to sarcasm and sardonic 'wit,' I am in my personal recovery program centered on my newly discovered truth, “Be kind, for everone you meet is fighting a great battle.”  (I wish it were my quote, but I need to credit Philo of Alexandria instead). 

In my Fifties, a time my Mother has told me will be the 'Best Decade Ever', I am looking to regain in wide-eyes amazement, my childlike wonder at all the magnificence, beauty, joy that surrounds us.  I want to see and feel it even while driving down the crowded freeways, standing in line at the license bureau, or while sitting through another 'pointless' meeting at work.

Love the sound of the mandolin, cellos, those wind sculptures that resonate when the breeze blows (I forget their name, but not their sound).  I love the sound of my wife's laughter and I even have come to love the sound I make with my ukulele.
